I just wanted to let you all know that I will be reducing the number of pen models that I will be making for stock pens. The models that I will be removing from my standard run of stock pens is as follows:
Baldur – Straight edges with cut off cone ends
Bast – Cat ears on the barrel, oversized head dress shaped cap
Fafnir – Pendant pen, pocket pen sized
Neptune – Oversized water drop ends on cap and barrel
Ra – Cigar shaped pen with opposing facets on cap and barrel
Icarus – wing tip shaped end of the barrel
They are being removed for a bunch of reasons really. They will still be available for custom work but those that are on https://dens-pens.square.site are the last ones that I will be making for stock. Once they are gone, that’s it.

Den: Great looking pen and I have a question. What modification are you doing to insure that the Nib is sealed in cap so it doesn’t leak or dry out. I have made several fountain pen users and customer complain that nib dry out after not using in a day or two. Attached are two commercial penthat have seals built in the cap and the LAMY that my wife uses never dry out or leaks, by the way there are less that $50.00 items on amazon. that’s for reply. Charlie

Obviously as a single person company I cannot compare to a company like LAMY as they have far more resources than me. However as a single maker I can concentrate on things such as what you point out. When I make my caps I use a triple lead thread and make sure that they are tight enough to create an airtight seal. If people are concerned that this is not enough I can add silicone grease to increase this seal. I have pens I have made that I use in the workshop where I have left them for months in between uses, when picking them up they work straight away, this is without any grease on the threads. Now obviously my experience with such a pen could be construed as biased, however I have not received any complaints concerning leaking or drying out that have been caused by the design of the pens themselves.
